Kef 141

gave you my eyes
my feet
my soul
and my life
what do what what
what do want?

gave you my tongue
my heart
my veins
my voice
what oh what baby
what do you want?

gave you
gave you gave you
gave you
gave you
gave gave gave gave gave gave gave
and if you want
i will
give
i will give again

Kef 25

the swan silvertone singers
pulled chords of blue and purple
like the velvet robe of king Nkoko
sounding in their sounding
of gut and Benin strut
paying no mind to the bean
and unseen mama walkers and owl
talkers laying it up close
to the night pose perching
peeking seeing
all the silvermoon lies of throat
and tongue splitting
in the unknown

--Henry Dumas
Valentines

Forgive me if I have not sent you a valentine
but I thought you knew
that you already have my heart
Here take the space where my
heart goes
I give that to you too
