the inner world and don't make peace with ourselves.
World peace must develop out of inner peace. Without
inner peace it is impossible to achieve world peace.
weapons themselves do not act. They have not come out
of the blue. Man has made them. But even given those
weapons, those terrible weapons, they cannot act by
themselves. As long as they are left alone in storage,
they cannot do any harm. A human being must use them.
Someone must push the button. Satan, the evil powers,
cannot push that button. Human beings must do it."
"How do we create peace and happiness? With weapons?
Of course not. With money? In some cases, but not all.
But in love, in sharing people's suffering, yes.
Good motivation is a sound basis for peace."
"To be aware of a single shortcoming within ourselves
is more useful than to be aware of a thousand in
somebody else. Rather than speaking badly of people
and in ways that will produce friction and unrest
in their lives, we should practice a purer perception
of them, and speak of their good qualities. If you
find yourself slandering anybody, just fill your mouth
with excrement. That will break you of the habit quickly
enough." "The consequences of karma are definite:
negative actions always bring about suffering,
and positive actions always bring about happiness.
If you do good, you will have happiness,
if you do bad, you yourself will suffer."
